Winners of the iBIBLE Art Vote
Last week, we invited you to participate in a vote for the best brand new iBIBLE art from Chapter 20: Joseph's Dreams. This has been a fun way to highlight the great work that the art and animation team has been doing recently. The artists responsible for the line art and the coloring will both receive a gift card for winning the vote!
The winning image, with 32% of the vote, is “Jacob Prepares the Coat of Many Colors.”
About the Winning Image
In this image, Jacob is holding up the vibrant, multi-colored coat that he would give to his son Joseph.
Now Israel loved Joseph more than his other sons, because Joseph had been born to him in his old age; so he made him a robe of many colors. When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him. —Genesis 37:3–4 [ESV]
Meet the Colorist
This image was colored by Sergio. He has been working on the iBIBLE project for the last 3.5 years. He has learned a great deal working with the talented team in Costa Rica. He started doing line art for publicity, and then moved into digital drawing and coloring. He learned traditional 2D animation, and then moved into 3D animation, working on several faith-based projects such as Torchlighters. Sergio studied art and took 3D digital coloring courses in university, and has gone on to train other artists as a teacher of coloring classes. He also enjoys making traditional art, using colored pencils and acrylic paint, making 2D portraits, and anime-manga-style images.
Meet the Line Artist
The line art for the winning image was done by Kenneth. He has been working in visual narrative and illustration for many years, 8 of which he has worked on faith-based projects. He has worked as a character designer and storyboard artist. He has a formal education as a graphic designer, but has worked primarily as an artist. Kenneth has spent a good amount of time practicing his art in his personal time, specializing in visual narrative and comics. He has worked to train others in art as well, and has continued his education with online courses.
