Creating iBIBLE Storybook: Volume 4
RevelationMedia is creating the iBIBLE Storybook series based on the iBIBLE Genesis episodes. Volumes 1–3 are currently available, and Volumes 4–6 are in various stages of production. Today, get a sneak peek into the creation of iBIBLE Storybook: Volume 4!
Each scene of iBIBLE is carefully researched and designed piece-by-piece to be as accurate and engaging as possible, and this volume of the storybook is no exception. RevelationMedia’s storyboard artist creates each of these books with art from the iBIBLE Genesis episodes.
Each spread of the storybook is based on the artwork from the episode. Seen below is the cover of Volume 4, listing each chapter of the book overlaid on a previous volume cover. The storyboard artist makes sure that all of the information is incorporated into the book, including the best artwork from the iBIBLE episode, all of the wording, and its overall cohesion and balance.
For each storybook, the storyboard artist helps to create an initial design by selecting the artwork from the episode that helps to tell the story in the best way. Below, you can see two images. The top image is a screenshot from a black-and-white episode before colorization, and the bottom is after the image is colorized, including more detail in Abram’s clothing, the tent, and the background. The storyboard artist also adds edits based on the page splits and crop lines.
Lastly, you can see a draft of the final page of the storybook. This summarizes all of the events in the chapters, and it is created by putting together the main images from each story. The one below is fully colorized and summarizes the storyline clearly in one page for the reader.
