Animating in 3D: Moses
RevelationMedia is continuing to design settings and characters for our upcoming 3D-animated iBIBLE: Life of Christ while also designing key sets and characters for other books of the Bible. This week, learn more about the creation of the clothing for the animated Moses character through a look at how our artists and animators use research to meticulously craft each element of the story. Each scene of iBIBLE is carefully researched and designed piece-by-piece to be as accurate and engaging as possible.
The animators and artists create a conceptual person in the animation software, and then they are able to adjust details such as clothing, hair, and accessories based on historically accurate references.
This first image shows the concepts and research conducted by the artists about what types of clothes and accessories Moses should have. The research provides the animators and artists with a starting point for creating the character.
After they create the initial designs, the animation goes through several rounds of edits for accuracy and visual appeal. This next image shows the initial concept animation with specific notes based on Biblical and historical research, as well as specific color changes to some of the items of clothing.
Lastly, in this image, you can see the final product of Moses’ clothing with changes to color and texture based on the feedback in the picture above. You will also notice that Moses’ beard and some facial aspects have been added to begin completion of the character.
Thank you so much for supporting iBIBLE! We are currently in the process of building and animating iBIBLE Life of Christ, the next installment of the world’s very first animated presentation of God’s Divine Narrative. Prayerfully consider partnering with us so we can continue creating quality Christian content to distribute to the global missions community for free.
