Animating People: King David
RevelationMedia is continuing to design settings and characters for our new 3D-animated installment of iBIBLE called Life of Christ. The first three episodes were released on Easter Sunday, April 20. Watch them today at www.i.BIBLE!
This week, learn more about King David for Jesus’ genealogy in iBIBLE Life of Christ through a look at how our artists and animators use research to meticulously craft each element of the story. Each scene of iBIBLE is carefully researched and designed piece-by-piece to be as accurate and engaging as possible.
This first image shows the preliminary research for adult King David, including elements of his costume design such as his robe, crown, and sash. This type of detailed research is what goes into the planning and preparation of each location, person, and episode of iBIBLE Life of Christ.
The animator then creates an initial design, as seen below. They base their designs on the initial research and on Biblical and historical interpretation. These initial designs will go through several rounds of edits for accuracy, color, and overall look.
Lastly, you can see the edits on the initial design for King David’s costume. King David would have been one of the most wealthy and well-known people in Israel, and as such, his clothing would portray his wealth and status among the people. Animators will update the character and costume designs as the production process continues.
