The People's Rejection of Christ
One of the strongest visual opposites is light and dark. See how lighting techniques are used in the upcoming iBIBLE Salvation episode to enhance the viewers’ understanding of Christ’s ministry and His rejection by the world.
Throughout Scripture, Jesus is described as the Light: The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him (John 1:9, 11). Jesus came to illuminate the world with His light, to bring salvation and provide us with a relationship with God! But the world rejected His light.
In the iBIBLE Salvation episode, Jesus’s ministry of preaching and miracles is represented with bright, vivid scenes. These help viewers to see how He is the Light and how His ministry was done through love to bring people to God! The focus of the scene then shifts to represent the people’s hatred and rejection of Him. The scenes fade to black, and the people reach out to seize and arrest Him.
Jesus did all these things in love to point people back to God, His Father, the Creator of all. However, His own people despised Him. —iBIBLE Salvation Episode
Through this visual representation of light and dark, the truth of the Gospel is shown. Even though the people rejected Him, still “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5).
